Cultivate a “Seed of Greatness” in Your Child
We want our children to believe in their inherent worth.” How do we cultivate that deep, inner sense that they are beloved children of God? Nathan Mitchell* explains how to cultivate a “seed of greatness” in your child.
Let’s say your child, Suzy, is chronically late for the school bus. Instead of listing all Suzy’s weaknesses and lecturing her with a solution, what if we said, “Suzy, I know you are having trouble being on time for the bus. What strengths do you have to help you solve this problem? Let’s build the solution from your ‘seed of greatness.'”
God says that His grace is sufficient for us as we seek to grow from our weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9). Let’s offer our children some grace as they grow too.
